This lithograph was produced by Archibald Standish-Hartrick during the First World War. Standish-Hatrick was a well-known British artist whose lithographs of women’s work helped publicise their important role on the British home front. It comes from the National Collection of War Art, composed of both official pieces of war art, commissioned by the New Zealand government, and other unofficial art works that were acquired by or donated to government departments.
